My favorite part about being home is that I have so much more time to watch shows I didn't have time to watch during the semester. So not only have I been watching shows I need to catch up on, but I am also watching shows that I've never seen before. [click the photos for trailers of each show!]
If you haven't seen Jane the Virgin yet you need to! It's an oddly funny american telenovela about a girl whose a virgin that is accidentally artificially inseminated. Due to the medication mistake her baby's father ends up being this super wealthy guy who happens to be the owner of the hotel she works at as she is finishing up undergrad school. This show has some pretty funny moments and has an interesting plot line!
I restarted it from season 1 episode 1 when I came home because I began the first episode of season 4 and felt completely lost. I'm happy I restarted it because I forgot how much I love this show! I 10/10 recommend it.
I started this show at a recommendation of a close friend. I had seen the trailer for this show a few months ago, but never gave it a chance. I actually sat down and watched the first episode which had some moments when you really question what is going on.
So basically Drew Barrymore (Shelia) throws up a bunch of weird vomit that then leads to her life being completely changed. This change also effects her family causing the whole dynamic to change as they deal with the diet change of Sheila. I think the funniest moment's come from her husband and whenever he has to deal with something that she did. Overall it is a good show, but if you get queasy from the sight of intestines and blood I recommend skipping this over. I had a few moments when I saw the bodies and cringed, but if you can overlook that like me then this is a great show! I give this 9/10 recommendation only because I don't like the sight of body intestines.
I'm not gonna lie - I started watching this show because of Meghan Markle. I never paid close attention to her relationship with Harry, but I did watch the royal wedding. So like any other person who didn't pay close attention I googled the heck out of her. That's when I learned all about her background as an American actress now Duchess of Sussex! Crazy, right?!
Anyway I started the show, it's on Amazon Prime, a few days ago and I'm absolutely hooked. It's about a young guy who has the intelligence of a Harvard Law student with the smarts of street hustler that ends up working for a huge law firm as the associate to Harvey Spencer, the best lawyer in New York City. It's quite entertaining and has some pretty funny moments. Meghan Markle is also another added bonus. I enjoy her witty remarks with the main character. The assistant to Harvey Spencer, Donna, is quite funny on her own; she has some great scenes. I also 10/10 recommend.
