I was really torn between which planner to buy for this upcoming school year. I know numerous girls who recommend the Erin Condren planner. I debated for weeks between the Erin Condren Life Planner and the Emily Ley Simplified Daily Planner. I love both planners in different ways. I ultimately decided on ordering the Simplified Planner.
My decision came down to layout of the planners. I like to see my daily schedule, I like to make lists, and I like to have a small spot for notes if I need to write down anything. The Simplified Planner has all of those qualities for every single day. I learned that this style works best for me because I used a really cheap $5 planner from Michael's that had the same layout.
I like how in the beginning of the planner there are few pages to help you prepare for the upcoming year. I enjoyed filling out the "Simplified Prep-Work" pages because they ask you to think about things that worked for you and things that didn't work for you the past year. This was a great section for me because I reviewed my study habits and spots.
I like how detailed the opening pages are! It's really great if you're a returning college student or a new one. A few of the pages make you consider what you want your routines to be like which I love because I felt like establishing a routine at college was a little difficult at first.
The planner offers monthly overviews and then turns to daily pages. [There are also weekly planners] I like how the tabs are laminated & colored per month. The gold coil that holds the planner together feel extremely sturdy and it's very shiny. I hope that holds up throughout the year because I've found that typically coil planners fall apart faster.
I read reviews all about the Simplified Daily Planner and a lot of people commented how well the coil of the planner is made. When you first open the planner there is a pocket on the inside of the front cover where you can slide some papers in if you need to! I currently keep all my stickers there. This planner also comes with a page of stickers!
Overall my first impression of this planner is that I 10/10 recommend it. I've already begun writing in birthdays, important days, and my schedule for this upcoming semester! I'll make another post about this planner with an in-depth review after this fall semester begins and I've used this planner for a few months.
