2019 Goals!

January 1, 2019

Happy New Years! I hope y'all enjoyed your celebrations last night and got home safe & sound! I spent the night with my family and watched the ball drop at midnight. I got to bed quickly after that since I wanted to wake up early to go to the gym this morning.

I wanted to get to the gym to fit in a workout in the few hours that my gym was open. Staying active and eating healthy is one of my 2019 goals. I'm keeping this post short & sweet so here are my 2019 goals!

1. Learn How to Cook

This winter break I learned I was accepted into a study abroad program in Europe and that program does not include a meal plan. At firs that made me nervous, but thinking about it more I am actually really excited! I like grocery shopping, but I don't know how to cook more than the basic spaghetti or breakfast foods. This year, especially before I leave, I am hoping to learn how to cook more dishes.

2. Stay Fit & Eat Healthy

Last year after my swim season ended I did not do a good job maintaining a healthy diet and I ended up gaining quite a few pounds. This year I really hope to establish a better diet and hopefully learning how to cook will help me make smarter food choices.

3. Raise my GPA Even Higher

This past fall semester I worked my butt off in the classroom more than I ever have and my GPA shot up. I had the highest GPA I've ever had in college and I hope to raise it again with this upcoming semester! I will be taking one additional class compared to last semester, but I am still just as determined to get another good GPA.

4. Learn to Manage My Time More

I am a pretty busy student throughout any given semester. Balancing school work, a sports team, and a sorority is a lot of work. This past semester I was also a mentor for first-year students in my school's business school. I was super busy and a few times I felt super overwhelmed. This upcoming semester I am going to be just as busy so I am hoping to improve my time management skills so I can minimize my stress throughout the semester.

5. Create a YouTube Channel

A friend of mine asked me when I was first blogging around this time last year if I wanted to extend this blog into a YouTube channel and possibly vlog alongside the blog. I said yes eventually and this year I think this year is the perfect year to start. Later this year I will be studying abroad in Europe (more on that in a later post) and I would love to create videos to share with y'all. You can check out my new YouTube channel here! Tonight I will upload my first video, a vlog of the first day of 2019!

Thank you for reading! I'll see you soon in my next post!
